When I think of the real power of what it means to start over, to begin again or begin something new, there should be time spent on evaluation, strengths, weaknesses and realities facing the demons of life which often surround us. A plan is often needed to help define benchmarks for key growth. This is the deductive reasoning approach, but the real difference happens when faith is at the core of the decision.
Remember the old passage from the good book, "If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can move a mountain". Well, faith is a powerful and often unused weapon. We are not talking about "Crying help" or reacting to a negative circumstance, but a real covenant to believing in God, His amazing son and a purpose driven resolve to change in any direction, as long as it is "towards" Him. Most prayers are embossed in selfishness and appear shiny on the outside, but have very little depth.
As you consider the future, your New Year's Resolution, begin by asking God what He wants. Stop and then listen to what He says in your heart. He WILL speak, but you have to be quiet and still long enough to listen. Remember, He is in control, not you. He has the entire world and understanding and created you, so you can bet His purpose is higher and even brighter than you could imagine.
So the one piece of advice this week as you contemplate, think, plan and consider your future, begin with God. Begin with listening and just see what He might whisper in your ear. He will whisper and He is listening, are you...
Love you all,
