BIG CHIEF TABLET

How do you deal with your past, especially when there are so many times you wished you had an eraser. When I was a young boy with my Big Chief tablet growing up, our elementary teacher would always say, "Don't worry son, you can just erase it and start over".  This might have been the "forgiving nature" of a teacher who say my penmanship was not very good, but even more it was like a "get out jail free coupon".

In life, nothing works like this does it?  When we make mistakes or when we go through conflict, the words from our mouths are look toothpaste which can never be placed back in the tube.  If we say something to someone and we are not in alignment with God, we can blow it and create enormous pain.  Words do mean things and our past cannot be erased, except in one place.

When God said in His word that when we ask forgiveness, He will remember our sins, NO MORE, He meant this. It is impossible to fathom a God whose holiness would allow our sins to be erased.

In the recent film, THE SHACK the character played by Sam Worthington, Mackenzie, was asking about the "wrath of God" and wanted to know when God gets really mad at us.  God answered by saying, "Sin is enough punishment" and while the philosophy is out there, the Biblical truth is that God sees us through His Son Jesus.  Our sins are covered by His blood and this is how we are forgiven, shown mercy and saved.

In my life I had struggles with sin in the areas of pride, lust of the flesh and lust of the eyes.  As all men who are Wild At Heart, I too made so many critical mistakes which create shame, guilt, humiliation and even fear.  I am not someone who knows all the answers, but one thing I know for sure.  God loves me past every sin. He doesn't excuse the sin, but He forgives me and washes the past away.

Are you struggling with your past?  Do you find yourself "wishing things were different" and wanting to change? You can change and begin again. It's time to start over, each and every day.  Jesus said in His words, "Behold, I make all things new" and He can make your life new again.  It's never too late because He is always on time.  Don't replay your bad films of the past anymore. Don't allow the enemy to rob, steal and destroy your joy.

Welcome to the world of imperfection and go find your Big Chief tablet and thank the Lord for giving us new days with clean sheets of paper for today.  We can't erase what happened yesterday, but we can adjust and get in alignment today, so that new stories we write can be about his faithfulness and love. He is handing you an eraser for the mistakes you make today and He does not want you to live in the past.  This is about "Him" and just know, I am praying for you today.

Thank you for praying for us each and every week.  We need you.

Blessings,

Kevin

PS I had the wonderful opportunity to be in the San Antonio area this week at Geneva High School and met some amazing new friends and students.  We need more young people becoming media missionaries, so would you pray for our children this week, they need our intercession!
