A small group of boys grew up in Macon, Georgia watching Mercer University play ball. The college was an all white Christian college and seminary who invited Sam Oni from Ghana, Africa to attend in 1963. This was the same time Martin Luther King Junior stood on the Lincoln Monument sharing about a dream he had for the future. Sam Oni and Don Baxter became the first integrated roommates and the basketball team quit making passes to the future Hall of Famers. Meanwhile, Mark Smith High School was created and later, they began to have those same kids being integrated to play on a high school team that would bring Macon together, during the middle of Civil Rights wars everywhere. The sport of basketball brought black and whites together in this heart warming story of unification. Watch the Mark Smith team of players unite together in a once in a lifetime championship play off setting Georgia records.
